Description
A complete course to ace Contract Law. Consumers and businesses enter into contracts on a regular basis. For example, manufacturers need to buy raw materials to make their products; then they sell those products to wholesalers and/or retailers who then ultimately sell them to us as consumers. Whilst we ourselves may not always think about the legal consequences of what we are doing until something goes wrong (e.g., the holiday we booked turns out to be a disaster), many businesses employ a resolute contracts manager. When something does go wrong (e.g., goods supplied are defective) the first thing to consider is whether there was a contract and, if so, on what terms. This course aims to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of distinct aspects and general principles of English Contract Law. Thus, we aim to give you a good overview of the requirements for the formation of contract, consideration, intention to create legal relations, formal requirements, terms, exclusion clauses and unfair terms, damages, and other remedies. This subject develops the idea of consensus, the rules and principles governing enforceability, performance, and discharge of contracts. Learners are introduced to common law and equitable principles as well as relevant legislation. After completing this course, you should be able to:1- Define and explain the main principles of contract law.2- Demonstrate an awareness of the effectiveness of the principles of the Law of Contract in modern society.3- Critically evaluate contemporary issues in contract law.4- Select and apply principles of the Law of Contract and reach logical and well-reasoned solutions. As Mahatma Gandhi once said, "Live as if you were to die tomorrow.
