Description
Welcome to Myth Magic and Mayhem: An ESL Learner’s Guide to learning English through Myth and Storytelling. This is a general interest course. The important thing to note is that any and all of these cultures could have entire long courses done about their mythology. This is meant to be a sample course where many different cultures are represented. The course starts from the beautiful oral traditions featured in Indigenous mythology to Pegan mythology where I have featured celtic mythology and Lithuanian Mythology to represent the beautiful pegan oral traditions. We then move too Western Greco-Roman Mythology and then Middle Eastern Mythology featuring myths from Saudi Arabia and Egypt and later touches on Hindu mythology. It ends in the orient sampling mythology from Japan Korea and China. The myths are short and read to the student asking questions about the story in quiz form. This course is meant to be enjoyable and it is meant to bring up the listening skills of the learner. It is also meant to foster interest in different cultures through all of their beautiful myths and stories. I would encourage anyone interested in learning about mythology to take this course. It is a great way to enjoy stories and learn English along the way! Welcome and don’t forget to have fun.
